Register: Visit the Passport Seva Online Portal and register as a new user. If you already have an account, log in using your registered login ID.
Form Submission: After logging in, download the e-Form for either a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). Fill out the form with the required details and click the “Validate & Save” button.
Appointment Booking: Once your form is ready, book an appointment at your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK). You can check appointment availability on the portal.
Document Verification: Visit the PSK or POPSK on the scheduled date and time. Carry all necessary documents, including proof of identity, address, your passport, and date of birth. The officials will verify your documents and process your application.
Biometric Data Collection: At the PSK or POPSK, your biometric data (photograph, fingerprints, and signature) will be collected.
Payment: Pay the applicable fee for passport services online.
Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/Regional Passport Office (RPO) where appointment has been booked, along with original documents.
Indian passport holders can obtain a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) if they are applying for residence, employment, long-term visa or immigration. PCC certifies that there is no criminal record against the person applying for Police Clearance Certificate. Persons traveling abroad on a tourist visa do not require this.
The service of obtaining a Police Clearance Certificate is not the same as obtaining a passport. PCC is a separate miscellaneous service provided by the Indian Police. It is not an essential component of the passport service.
